The Eyeopener is one of two weekly student newspapers at Ryerson University in Toronto. It has a circulation of 10,000 copies per week during the school year. The Eye is published by Rye Eye Publishing Inc., owned by the students of Ryerson as a non-profit corporation.

A group of Ryerson grads are contributing to Canada’s history. Out of over 170 pitches submitted to Historica Canada’s request for proposals, Route Eleven, a production company started and run by several Ryerson alumni, was selected by Historica Canada to create two Heritage Minutes. UNMASKING RYERSON CONFESSIONS
The ever-growing Ryerson Confessions Facebook page is anonymously-run space where Ryerson students unveil their deepest and darkest secrets. Currently, the page has over 7,300 followers.
From confused students and star-crossed lovers anonymously posting in the hopes of finding their soul mates, to allegations of rape, sexual harassment and transphobic remarks, the page has attracted a lot of attention since its creation in 2014. Read the full story here.
Rye SEXUAL ASSAULT FILM SPARKS IMPORTANT CONVERSATION SURROUNDING TRAUMA
A rare combination of fiction and documentary, blurring the lines between reality and mythology, Ryerson alumni Sydni Lazarus’ film Wisdom Teeth explores the parallels of the mythological Hades and Persephone to tell the stories of real sexual assault survivors in a world dominated by rape culture. Managing editor for the Eyeopener's annual parody issue. The managing editor decides on each year's theme, art direction, additional media and pitches for the issue. All articles are written by members of the masthead. All story ideas pitched and edited by myself. This year, I decided to parody The Ryersonian, another newspaper based out of Ryerson University.
